First Science Fiction by Eddie

撒花，Eddie的第一本科幻探险小说诞生啦！

关注小号的真爱粉可能了解，Eddie上天下海的小故事已经写了十几篇了，都是根据英语课要求用这节课所学词汇句型写的。当然literally speaking，是他口述我记录的（毕竟人家才五岁），有一些他不知道的表达或者明显的错误和不妥我也会提醒他修改或者提出我的建议。从一开始东一榔头西一锤子地跑火车瞎编，到渐渐地开始考虑故事的完整性和逻辑性、句子和段落之间的过渡、用词的时态语法和精确性、想象的合理性……短短几个月之内的进步是惊人的。

这次我们利用周末时间写了一篇长达一千字的 「 集大成之作 」 Solar System Adventure（太阳系探险）。在这个故事中，由Eddie , Stephen和Mommy组成的探险小队游历了太阳系除地球以外的七大行星。虽然语言和情节都简单幼稚（毕竟人家才五岁），但每个行星的特征都得到了体现：你知道哪个行星最热吗？哪个行星是躺着的？哪个行星有三条光环？Eddie的故事会告诉你哦！

这是他近几个月来太空探索兴趣和初章阅读起步的集中输出，写完这么长一个故事的耐心亦属难能可贵。我把故事打印出来用订书机订成 了一本小书，Eddie激动地反复翻阅。我私自认为这是他第一部真正意义上的作品，虽然很不成熟，但还是非常值得留念。接下来我们会鼓励他继续修改，画配图，争取印成一本真正的小书~

Solar System Adventure

One day, Eddie built a space house and invited Mommy and Stephen to go in the space house. 
Mommy said, “This space house is very big.”
Stephen said, “I think this space house is bigger than my home.”
Eddie said, “Now I think I might improve the space house.” and he improved the space house very quickly.  Eddie made some gold tables and put some books on the shelf.

Eddie said, “Ready? I’m gonna press the button.  The button will let the space house go into the solar system.”
They said, “All ready!”
Eddie pressed the button and the space house flew into the solar system.

Eddie said, “We will stay on Mercury for a little bit.”
Stephen said, “I know that Mercury is very hot, so we need to wear air tanks.” 
Eddie said, “It’s no use just wearing air tanks – we need to wear space suits and air tanks.”

The space house landed on Mercury. 
Eddie asked, “Ready? Have you all worn your space suits and air tanks?” They said yes. 
“We are going to Mercury.” said Stephen and he sang a song, “We are going to Mercury~~~ We are going to Mercury~~~ Mercury is so~ small~~~”
Mommy said, “It’s so hot on Mercury and there is no air.  We are lucky because we are wearing space suits and air tanks.”
Stephen and Eddie played jumping ropes on Mercury.
“Jumping ropes is so much fun,” said Eddie, “but we have to move on to the next planet.”

The next planet is Venus, the hottest planet in the solar system. 
Mommy asked Eddie, “Why is this planet so hot? It is not the closest to the sun.”
Eddie answered, “Because it has a layer of atmosphere.”
Mommy said, “Oh, I don’t know because I’m not a space expert.”
Eddie said, “Are you ready?”
Mommy and Stephen said, “Ready.” And they went to Venus.

On the way, Eddie, Mommy and Stephen saw some meteors. 
Eddie said, “We are almost there.”
“Look, Venus is yellow.” said Stephen.
“Have you been to Venus before?” asked Eddie.
Stephen said yes and Mommy said no.

The space house landed on Venus.
“We can just stay on Venus for a little bit.” said Stephen. 
Eddie said, “We don’t time to play.  We only have time to explore Venus.”
So they explored Venus and took Venus rocks back into the space house.

Eddie said, “The next stop is Mars.”
The space house flew on its own to Mars.
Stephen asked, “Is Mars farther or closer to the sun than Earth?”
Eddie said, “It is farther.  We can’t play on Mars, but we have lots of time to explore Mars.  And we are here.”
Stephen said, “Mars is red.”
They explored Mars, found some Mars rocks and took photos of the Grand Canyon, craters and storms on Mars.

Eddie said, “Time for Jupiter!”
Stephen said, “Ready? I’m pressing the button.”
He pressed the button and the space house floated away.

On the way to Jupiter, Eddie took some pictures of comets and said, “Look, there is Jupiter!”
Stephen said, “Jupiter has stripes.”
Eddie said, “This is true.”
They arrived on Jupiter.
Stephen said, “Jupiter is so big.”
Eddie said, “Jupiter is a gas planet, so we need space rugs to land on Jupiter.”
Everyone took the space rugs and stood on them.  
“Is everyone ready?” said Mommy.
Eddie and Stephen said, “Ready!”
Then Eddie sang a song, “We are on Jupiter~~~ We are on Jupiter~~~ Jupiter is so~ big~~~ And it has stripes~~~”

They went outside to explore Jupiter.
“This time you have time to play but just a little time.”
Stephen said, “Okay.”
“First, you need to explore, then you can play.” Eddie added.
They took photos of Jupiter’s stripes and red spot.

Mommy shouted, “Time to play!”
Eddie played ball, Stephen played jumping rope and Mommy exercised on Jupiter. They played for five minutes. 
Eddie shouted, “Time to go to Saturn!”
Stephen complained, “But I have not played enough!”
Eddie said, “Never mind.  You can play on Saturn.”

This time, it was Mommy’s turn to press the button.
Mommy said, “Ready? I’m going to press the button.”
She pressed the button and the space house flew to Saturn. 
“Saturn has ring and Saturn is beautiful.” said Eddie, “We are almost arriving on Saturn.”
Stephen said, “Wow, Saturn is so beautiful.”
“Let me take a photo.” said Mommy and she took the photo.

“Oh, we have arrived.” said Eddie, “We need space rugs on Saturn too.”
Everyone took the space rug and went outside. They took videos of Saturn’s ring and storms.  And then they played for a long time on Saturn. 
Stephen said, “This time I will play for long enough!”
Mommy exercised again, and this time Stephen played ball and Eddie played jumping rope.

“I think I have played enough now.” said Stephen. 
Eddie said, “Me too.” 
“Time to go to Uranus.” shouted Mommy.
Eddie pressed the button and the space house floated to Uranus. 
Stephen said, “Uranus is on its side.”
Eddie said, “We are almost here.  This time we have to explore Uranus.  We don’t have time to play.”
Mommy said, “I don’t want to exercise any more.”

Uranus has ring like Saturn. 
Eddie said, “Oh, we have landed on Uranus. Uranus is a gas planet too, so we need space rugs.” 
Everyone went to take space rugs.
“Is everyone ready?” asked Stephen. 
Everyone said “Ready!” And they went outside to Uranus.  They took photos of Uranus’ ring and put ice from Uranus in the ice bag.

Eddie said, “Time to go to Neptune!”
Eddie pressed the button and the space house flew to Neptune. 
Stephen said, “Neptune has big black spot.” Then they arrived on Neptune.
“We need to use ice space rugs on Neptune because Neptune has lots of ice.” said Stephen.
They went outside to Neptune with their ice space rugs.  They took photos of the black spot and the three rings of Neptune and they took Neptune’s ice to the space house.

Eddie said, “Home time!”
They went on the space house, Eddie pressed the button and they flew home. After they got home, they took a nap, and then they ate some snacks. 

Yippee! What an amazing space trip!
